Context

Jobtru is a U.S.-based construction management technology company. Its mission is simple: Simplify field service operations for small and mid-sized contractors.

The platform centralizes:

  • CRM and lead management

  • Estimating and proposals

  • Job scheduling

  • Field tracking

  • Invoicing and payments

  • AI-powered assistance

With thousands of jobs processed monthly, Jobtru had strong market adoption. However, the product experience needed to evolve. The platform was feature-rich, but increasingly complex.

Growth demanded:

  • Better workflow clarity

  • Faster task execution

  • Scalable architecture

  • A more cohesive product experience

I joined the project as the UX/UI Designer responsible for redefining the platform experience end-to-end.

The Challenge

Despite being a mature and widely adopted construction management platform, Jobtru’s digital presence no longer reflected the robustness, performance, or technological maturity of its product.

The platform needed to:

  • Support high job volume and financial transactions

  • Enable real-time operational decisions

  • Reduce friction across disconnected workflows

  • Maintain speed and reliability at scale

Key problems identified:

  • Cognitive overload in operational screens

  • Navigation that didn’t reflect contractors’ real workflows

  • Redundant steps between CRM → Estimate → Job → Invoice

  • Increasing complexity as new features were added

The core challenge: Design a truly all-in-one operational platform without overwhelming the user.

The Solution

I redesigned the platform as a unified operational system — not just a collection of tools. The new product vision focused on:

  1. End-to-End Workflow Integration
    Connecting the full contractor journey:

  • Lead captured in CRM

  • Converted into estimate

  • Approved and scheduled

  • Tracked in real time

  • Closed with automated invoicing

    No fragmented transitions. No duplicated data.

  1. Clarity Through Structure
    Simplified navigation architecture

  • Clear hierarchy across dashboards

  • Consistent interaction patterns

  • Modular components for scalability

    Every screen was designed to answer one question:
    “What does the contractor need to do next?”

    Reduced unnecessary UI elements

  • Optimized layout density for high-volume usage

  • Designed for speed in repetitive tasks

  • Built with technical constraints and scalability in mind

    The goal was operational efficiency, not visual decoration.

I led the design process from strategy to execution, working closely with Product and Engineering.

Discovery & Alignment

  • Identified friction points across CRM, estimating, and invoicing

  • Analyzed feature adoption and operational bottlenecks

  • Defined a unified product vision

Information Architecture Redesign

  • Reorganized navigation around real operational flows

  • Reduced feature fragmentation

  • Created logical transitions between lifecycle stages

  • Designed dashboards around actionable data

System & Interaction Design

  • Built a scalable, modular design system

  • Standardized components for financial and operational data

  • Improved form design for faster data input

  • Designed AI assistant interactions to support daily tasks
